Town of Buchanan Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) 2025-2029

The Town Board and Park Committee are excited to start implementation of the CORP and want to thank the citizens of Buchanan for their input into this plan as it would not be possible without you.

Implementation will be driven by the Park Committee and tracked below.  The Town encourages the communality to celebrate in these accomplishments.

2025

1. Main St. Pond Park: The Town received a grant for a playground in the amount of $74,640 (50% of playground cost) from GameTime and $25,000 from the Darboy Kiwanis Club with the remaining project funded by funds previously set aside by the Town for parks and recreation purposes.  The playground will be installed in 2025 with a turf surface.  Additionally, the gravel trail around the pond will be paved with trail funds previously set aside specifically for trails. 

2. Town Hall Park Master Plan: The Town is working on preparing a master plan for Town Hall Park. The Park Committee held a public workshop on April 8, 2025 to gather input for the plan.

Update Process 2023/2024
