In additon, any resident which is creating a new driveway access or is replacing a culvert under an existing driveway shall obtain a culvert permit from the Town.  This permitting process is necessary to ensure that proper drainage is maintained for your property and surrounding properties.

Preliminary Flood Map Information for Buchanan

FEMA and the Wisconsin DNR have released preliminary Outagamie County Flood Insurance Rate Maps.  The revised maps affect a significant number of properties in Buchanan.  Maps are available for public inspection at the Town Hall.

Homeowners could be required to carry flood insurance based on these revised maps.  Outagamie County is the responsible community under this Federal program.  Buchanan residents must contact County officials to appeal the floodplain determinations on the maps.  Residents have the right to go through an appeals process, but it will have to be done through the Outagamie County Zoning Department at 832-5255.  Appeals will be accepted for a six-month time period.  Residents must submit technical evidence that the floodplain elevations are incorrect.
