Please help to keep your neighborhood clean by doing the following:
- Bag and close all garbage even if you are using a garbage can.
- Be sure to bag packing materials such as packing peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.
- Use brown paper bags from the grocery store to place all your paper materials in, even if you use a plastic container or tie into bundles.
- Cardboard should be cut into pieces no larger than 2' x 2', then placed in a brown paper grocery bag or tied into bundles.
- Make sure that your garbage and recyclables are on the same side of the driveway CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. Veolia is using one truck with 3 separate compartments to pick up your recycling and garbage all at once. NOTE: Yard waste is the only thing that should be placed on the opposite side of your driveway away from your weekly garbage.
- Please have your garbage and recyclables out by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day. If you are late, Veolia will not return to retrieve your garbage.
- There is a limit of no more than FIVE 30-gallon trash bags per residence per week.
- Blue recycling bags are no longer accepted. Please use a container clearly marked with a recycling emblem. There are recycling stickers available at the Town Hall if you would like to designate your own container. You can co-mingle your glass, tin, #1 & #2 plastic and aluminum all in one container.
- Stop by the Town Hall for a "Home Recycle Kit", outlining the do's and don'ts of recycling or go online and visit the Outagamie County Solid Waste/Recycling web site.
If you have any questions, please call the Town of Buchanan at 734-8599 or Veolia Environmental Services toll free at 1-800-279-1930.
