Outagamie County Recycling Program

Thank you to everyone who participates in the Outagamie County Recycling Program by either placing your recyclable materials at the curb for pick up, or by bringing them to the recycling drop off site.  This exceptional participation has contributed to the success of our program.  For recycling information please visit the Outagamie County Solid Waste/Recycling website and click on the recycling link.

Outagamie County has joined efforts with Waupaca County on a paper education campaign.  This campaign's main objective is to get residents to recycle more!  We have seen paper tonnages drop over the past four years and we would like to see this trend reversed.  We want all residents to know how important each pound of paper is to our program.  By increasing recycling tonnage to the County program by 15%, we could add $200,000 revenue (at today's paper prices) to help offset the costs of our recycling program.  This could be done if each household were to recycle an additional two pounds of paper materials a week.

Construction & Demolition Waste

Outagamie County residents and businesses have an opportunity to donate used and excess construction or building materials, instead of land-filling it.  Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a newly opened building materials reuse and surplus center.  Overstocked, discontinued or slightly damaged items, as well as used materials and equipment are donated for resale to the public.  All proceeds are then utilized for Habitat for Humanity work.  If you donate items you will receive a tax deduction and help the environment at the same time.  Not only can you donate, but also anyone can shop at the ReStore.

ReStore is located at 3000 E. College Avenue, Appleton (behind Mr. Cinders and Perkins). Simply call (920)830-4900, leave your name and number, and the ReStore will call within 24 hours to set up a time to pick your materials up.  If you are cleaning your garage, remodeling your home, or building a new home, think ReStore before you throw it away.
