2012 Dates for Appliance & Large Item Pickups - January 13, February 10, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14, 2012

Appliance Pick Up Information:

1. Freon Appliances to include:  refrigerators, freezers, upright freezers, chest freezers (MUST BE CLEANED OUT), dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and water coolers.
2. Other Appliances including: water heaters, dishwashers, stoves, washers, dryers, microwaves, furnaces, humidifiers, and propane tanks for grills.

To have an appliance removed you must purchase a sticker prior to Noon the Thursday prior to the scheduled pick-up. If an appliance does not have a sticker, it will not be picked up. Each sticker is individually numbered at the time of purchase and your name and street address will be filed at the Town with that sticker number. The stickers can be purchased at the Town Hall.

The cost for the appliance stickers is:

Appliances - $30.00 each, (Cash or Check only we can not take credit or debit cards), (Please do not remove any tags or metal parts from the appliance). Propane tanks for grills are also $30.00 each.

This service is offered to Town of Buchanan residents only and proof of residency is required.  The appliance pickup procedures, rules and dates are subject to change at the Town's discretion.  Any questions, please feel free to call the Town Hall at 734-8599.

Habitat ReStore located at 3000 E. College Avenue in Appleton will take donations of several different types of appliances and large household items.  The ones they charge for are: Air conditioners $15.00, Dehumidifiers $15.00, Refrigerators $15.00 and Freezers $15.00. The phone stores phone number is (920) 830-8400.  They have a Donation Hotline to schedule a pick-up, that number is (920) 967-8907, (they charge $3.00 for each mile over 20 miles). Another sticker program we offer is our large item pick up.  Large items are considered small or large furniture items, exercise equipment, grills w/out tanks, sinks, toilets, lawn & garden equipment with the fuel and oil drained, carpeting and/or padding, construction or remodeling materials, etc.

Note: TV's and electronic items can no longer be picked up.  Please see Outagamie County's electronic recycling rules for details on how to dispose of these items.

Large item stickers must be purchased by Noon the Thursday before the scheduled monthly pick-up date (see dates listed above). These dates are normally scheduled for the 2nd Friday of each month.  These items must be located at the road side

The cost for a large item sticker is 10.00 per item, (Cash or check only we can not take credit or debit cards).

If you have a large number of items, it may be more cost effective for you to rent a dumpster from Veolia or take the load to the Outagamie County Landfill yourself. 

You should not put these items on the road side until the night before the once-a-month pick up date. Any items that can't wait until the scheduled dates, you will have to haul to the Outagamie County Landfill, (the landfill is only open one Saturday morning per month during the winter, call for dates and times at (920) 832-5277), yourself or call Veolia Environmental Services and pay them directly for a special separate pick up.
