Appliance Pick Up Information:

1. Freon Appliances to include:  refrigerators, freezers, upright freezers, chest freezers (MUST BE CLEANED OUT), dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and water coolers.
2. Other Appliances including: hot water heaters, dishwashers, stoves, washers, dryers, microwave ovens, furnaces, humidifiers, and propane tanks.

To have a freon appliance or regular appliance removed, you must purchase a sticker (see cut-off day below) from the Buchanan Town Hall, N178 County Road N between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The cost of the stickers are:

Freon Appliance - $20.00 each, (Cash Or Check only we can not take credit or debit cards), (Please do not remove any tags or metal parts from the appliance).

Other Appliances - $10.00 each (except propane tanks = $13.00 each)

Each appliance will need an individual sticker to be purchased by Noon the Thursday before the scheduled Friday pick up date.  If an appliance does not have a sticker, it will not be picked up. Each sticker is individually numbered at the time of purchase and your name and street address will be filed at the Town with that sticker number. 

This service is offered to Town of Buchanan residents only and proof of residency is required.  The appliance pickup procedures, rules and dates are subject to change at the Town's discretion.  Any questions, please feel free to call the Town Hall at 734-8599.

Appliance & Large Item Pick Up Dates For 2010:

Appliance & Large Item Pickup Schedule:   (Saturday) September 11, 2010; October 8, 2010; November 12, 2010; December 10, 2010.

Another sticker program we offer is our large item pick up.  Large items are considered small or large furniture items, exercise equipment, grills w/out tanks, TVs, sinks, toilets, lawn & garden equipment with the fuel and oil drained, carpeting and/or padding, construction/remodeling materials, etc.

Large item stickers must be purchased by Noon the Thursday before the scheduled monthly pick up date (see dates listed above). These dates are normally scheduled for the 2nd Friday of each month.  These items must be located at the road side, just like your regular garbage.

Make sure each item out for pick up is scheduled with the Town Hall and you have purchased a sticker to put on each item (see the cut-off time listed above). The cost for a sticker is $6.00 per item, (Cash or check only we can not take credit or debit cards). If you have a large number of items, it may be more cost effective for you to rent a dumpster from Veolia or take the load to the Outagamie County Landfill yourself.  You should not put these items on the road side until the night before the once-a-month pick up date. Any items that can't wait until the scheduled dates, you will have to haul to the Outagamie County Landfill, (the landfill is only open one Saturday morning per month during the winter, call for dates and times at (920) 832-5277), yourself or call Veolia Environmental Services and pay them directly for a special separate pick up.
