Polling Place Location & Hours

All elections are conducted at the Buchanan Town Hall, N178 County Road N, Appleton, WI  54915.  Polling place hours on election day are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Voter Registration

If you are a new resident, residing in town for at least 10 days prior to an election, you can obtain a Voter Registration Form EB-131 from the Town of Buchanan office, on our election forms link, or from the State Government Accountability Board's website: Government Accountability Board. Choose the form EB-131, download it to Adobe Acrobat Reader and print.  You will need to provide proof of residency and identification when the form is brought into the clerk's office, if it is 19 days or less to the next election.  Be sure to follow all the directions and fill in all needed information or we will not be able to process your voter registration.

All mail-in registrations REQUIRE a copy of your drivers license or photo ID be attached with the correct address listed on the ID or your application will be invalid.  Election day registrations also require proof of residency.  Some acceptable forms of identification or proof of residency are:  a valid Wisconsin DOT license with current town address, or a Wisconsin identification card with current town address, a paystub, a gas, electric or telephone service statement for the period commencing not earlier than 90 days before the election, or a credit card or bank statement with the correct address.

To Request An Absentee Ballot

All requests for absentee ballots need to be in writing with the signature of the elector and the date of the election for which you would like an absentee ballot.  On your request, be sure to include the address where the ballot should be mailed to.  We prefer you use form EB-121 from our election forms link or the State Government Accountability Board's website:  Government Accountability Board.  The form is also availbable at the Town Hall.
