Appliance & Large Item Pick-Up Dates: Third Wednesday of Each Month (sticker must be purchased by noon on the Tuesday before pick-up)
To have an appliance removed you must purchase a sticker before Noon the Tuesday prior to the scheduled pick-up, (which would be before noon on the third Tuesday of the month). If an item does not have a sticker, it will not be picked up. Each sticker is individually numbered at the time of purchase and your name and street address will be filed at the Town Hall office with that sticker number. The stickers can be purchased at the Town Hall.
The cost for the appliance stickers is $20.00 each non-Freon item. $50.00 per sticker for refrigerant items, (any item containing Freon). Please do not remove any tags or metal parts from the appliance.
Another sticker program we offer is our Large Bulky Item and Small Bulky Item Pick Up. Large items are considered to be couches, mattress or box springs, grills (no tank), treadmills, recliners, carpet or pads (per room), etc. Small Bulky Items are microwaves, chairs (kitchen), small tables, toilets, etc. These items are generally smaller in size and weight than items identified as large bulky items.
Large item stickers must also be purchased by Noon the Tuesday before the scheduled monthly pick-up. These dates are scheduled for the 3rd Wednesday of each month. These items must be located at the road side.
The cost for a large bulky item sticker is $20.00 per item. The cost for a small bulky item sticker is $10.00 per item.
Note: TV's and electronic items can no longer be picked up. Please see Outagamie County's electronic recycling rules for details on how to dispose of these items.
This service is offered to Town of Buchanan residents only and proof of residency may be requested. The appliance and bulky item pick-up procedures, rules and dates are subject to change at the Town's discretion. Any questions, please feel free to call the Town Hall at 734-8599
You should not put these items on the road side until the night before the once-a-month pick-up date. Any items that can't wait until the scheduled dates, you will have to haul to the Outagamie County Landfill or call Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. and pay them directly for a special separate pick up. Their number is 1-800-279-1930.
The Habitat ReStore, located at 3000 E. College Avenue in Appleton, also offers options for donations of many items. For more information call (920) 830-8400 or visit their website at: www.appletonrestore.org.
K9 Tech Recycling, 505 W 3rd St, Kimberly, WI will accept several items for free. TV's, monitors, Fluorescent light bulbs, refrigerators and freezers can be dropped off for a fee. Pick up service is also available. For more information call Jeremy Wautier 920-470-2542 or www.k9techservices.com.
