2018 Tax Bills will be mailed December 6th.

All payments after January 31, 2019 must be made payable to the Outagamie County Treasurer and mailed or taken in person to the Outagamie County Treasurer, 320 S. Walnut St., Appleton, WI 54911.  

SECOND INSTALLMENT. Payable to Outagamie County Treasurer by July 31, 2019. Address: 320 S. Walnut St., Appleton, WI 54911. 

The Town cannot accept 2nd installment payments or late 1st installment payments.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. To pay property taxes by Credit or Debit card the information is available online at Outagamie County's website.  The Town of Buchanan does not accept Credit or Debit cards at the Town Hall for property tax payments at this time.

The suggested in-person Tax Payment hours are listed on your tax bill. Please use these if you need a receipt.

Special Assessment Codes: The following special assessment codes might appear on your tax bill: 04 Street Lights; 14S Storm Water Utility; 10P POWTS; 13 Garbage/Refuse Collection; 15/16 Delinquent Water/Sewer. Tax balances can be viewed on the Outagamie County Web Site.

The Outagamie County Treasurer is Trenten Woelfel, phone number 920-832-5065. If your mailing address has changed please update it with the County Treasurer's office. All tax bills are sent to the last recorded individual/address on record at the Outagamie Treasurer's office. Name changes and or corrections need to be made at the County Register of Deeds office. To look up your property tax records, parcel information, payment history, etc. visit the County's Land Information/Taxes website. New Homeowners - Lottery Credit Application Available

The Lottery and Gaming Credit is a credit applied to your property tax bill that reduces the amount of taxes due on your bill. Homeowners who used the home as their primary residence on January 1, 2018 are eligible to receive the credit.

You must complete the application form in order to receive the credit. Forms are available at the Town Hall and the Department of Revenue's website Form #LC-110 at If you have received the credit in past years and have not moved from the home, you do not need to reapply. The credit will be automatically added to your tax bill.

The  2018 Tax Rate Summary details tax rates of all applicable jurisdictions in the Town of Buchanan and provides tax rate information for the last two years by School District.

Town of Buchanan 2019 Budget

The Town's 2019 Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting was held on November 08, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.   The Town Board adopted the 2019 budget on November 13, 2018.  Information related to the FY 2019 Budget are posted below:

Town of Buchanan 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan

The Town Board has not adopted a five-year Capital Improvement Plan.  A plan has not been adopted because the Town is going to undertake a planning study to develop a 5 to 10 year road reconstruction and maintenance plan that takes into consideration the road conditions, drainage and the financial capacity to complete projects. In 2019 there will be maintenance work done on a number of Town roads. Those roads will be identified in Spring 2019.
